A full service hair salon and boutique clothing store, Zahra Boutique Salon is a place to feel like family in a comfortable atmosphere. Operated by Zahra and daughter Shila, we have over half a century of combined experience, and we enjoy connecting with you one-on-one, and really get to know you, your style, and personality for a highly customized cut. Come in for a visit and come out with a look that will have you bursting with confidence!

Our blend of experience and innovation has us always on the lookout for the latest styles, which keeps us on our toes creatively. We really love helping you to look and feel your best, and that extends naturally from our hair to our fashion offerings. Shila, a graduate of both fashion and cosmetology schools, helps women look their best and also find that perfect dress for a night on the town. Located in gently bustling downtown Lafayette since 2011, parking is free and convenient, and we’re right next door to Rustic Tavern and across from Postino. Grab a beverage nearby and enjoy a delightful indulgence while getting pampered.

Our specialties include balayage technique, color, highlights, and updos. We’re proud to carry davines, Aloxxi and Keratin Complex beauty products, renown for their exceptional moisturizing/conditioning and odorless pigments.

 

About Zahra

Being raised in India, and having lived in Iran and Denmark has given Zahra a uniquely worldly perspective on fashion, beauty, and family. After moving to the United States in 1989, Zahra started working at a salon in the East Bay, where as a single mother, she regularly worked double shifts to support her two daughters. An entrepreneur at heart, she would open her own salon just ten years later. When Zahra relocated the salon to Lafayette in 2011 after a decade-long search, it was with the clear intention to make it a more scaled-down and intimate space where she could also enjoy quality time with family, including her two adorable young granddaughters. Just like her daughter Shila, everything Zahra does comes from a place of love. Zahra enjoys nature, cooking, and feeding her family and friends both in and out of the salon. Zahra also loves fashion and gets excited about the fashion-forward discoveries that Shila brings into the store.

About Shila

Zahra's love of fashion and beauty was passed on to her daughter Shila, who followed right in her mother’s footsteps. Shila started out in 1997 as the receptionist for the salon Zahra managed, and after attending two years of fashion school at Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM), and two years of cosmetology school, Shila apprenticed under Zahra, and quickly her love for hair blossomed alongside her love for fashion. She started out doing weddings and special occasion hair, and now she enjoys a wide range of specialties, including color and highlights. Most of all, Shila just loves making others beautiful and feeling good about themselves. She builds confidence through beautiful hair and style. On the fashion side, Shila regularly attends trade shows to stay on top of the most current trends. Constantly educating themselves, Zara and Shila enjoy taking classes together to stay on top of styles to further their professional development. In Shila’s free time you’re likely to find her out with her two young daughters enjoying a hike in nature or cooking healthy foods together, and exploring new restaurants.
